System Safety Manager

About the Role:
The UH-60M System Safety Manager will be responsible for applying system safety principles to the in-service phase of the UH-60M Black Hawk, including support systems, and introducing new design capabilities to the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applying system safety techniques to new design activities, including Preliminary Hazard Identification, System Requirements/Hazard Analysis, and Health Hazard Analysis.
- Performing System Safety Risk Assessments in support of technical and design hazards identified during UH-60M operation and maintenance.
- Managing the UH-60M Hazard Log and facilitating Platform and Project level System Safety Working Groups.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust consultation and communication of risks and associated controls.
- Providing support to Incident/Accident Investigations.
Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of aircraft systems and sub-systems.
- Prior experience coordinating safety programs under the DASR framework, particularly DASR Part 21.
- A strong working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011.
- Experience in the provision of System Safety Management support for In-Service Capability.
- A strong working knowledge of 'Department of Defense standard Practice: System Safety' [MIL-STD-882E] and its application to the lifecycle of a system.
Desirable:
- Prior experience working on a rotary wing program.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, Engineers Australia).
