About this role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Health and Physical Education to lead our HPE department and make a significant impact on student learning outcomes.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the HPE curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and school priorities.
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to HPE staff, promoting high-quality teaching practices and student achievement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate HPE with other subject areas, enhancing student learning experiences.
  • Mentor and coach teachers to improve their practice and contribute to the growth of the HPE team.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, students, and the wider community to promote HPE and its value in student learning.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized teaching qualification.
  • Extensive experience in HPE, including teaching, coaching, and leading teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the wider community.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development, staying up-to-date with best practices in HPE education.
  • An understanding of the importance of physical activity and health education in student learning and well-being.
