About St Francis Xavier College

St Francis Xavier College is a large co-educational Year 7-12 Catholic college in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn with an outstanding reputation for leading excellence in education in the ACT. The College is committed to equity of access to, and sustained delivery of quality education for all students, maintaining a diverse representation of the broader community. Teachers in the College are expert practitioners in the design and delivery of the Australian Curriculum and ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) courses. Teachers continuously attend professional learning and effectively utilise technology in the classroom. The College carries an outstanding reputation of leading excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, attracting and teaching 1,350 students.

About The Role

St Francis Xavier College is seeking to recruit a Year Coordinator to join our team in 2026 or earlier. The College is seeking a person who is committed to the vision of the College 'Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life' who is invested in and who will promote the mission of Catholic education. The successful applicant will be an experienced educator and will have demonstrated successful experience as a secondary teacher, and will possess initiative, integrity and vision. Year Coordinators at St Francis Xavier College provide expert leadership of a year group and utilise current research, evidence and innovative practice in pastoral care and student wellbeing to meet the needs of our learners 7 -12. As a member of the Pastoral Leadership team the Year Coordinator reports to the Assistant Principal Student Wellbeing and to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
