About This Role

The role of SHEQ Advisor is to provide coaching, guidance and support services to staff and subcontractors across multiple contracts in the Telecommunications sector.

Located in Hobart, Tasmania, this position offers hybrid working between home and the office. Key responsibilities include promoting a strong SHEQ culture throughout the region as a business stakeholder and collaborating with internal and external teams on audits, inspections and observations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote Ventia's SHEQ culture throughout the Tasmanian region
  • Conduct audits, inspections and observations with internal and external teams
  • Support Operations Managers and Project Management teams in ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of Telecommunications projects
  • Manage incidents and events, reporting them in a timely manner and facilitating effective close-out
  • Develop and implement targeted prevention programs to mitigate emerging incident trends
  • Engage with relevant client and regulator representatives
  • Facilitate review and modification of Project Risk Assessments/Registers and SWMS
  • Assist projects in implementing and maintaining health surveillance activities
  • Support Operations Managers and Project Management teams in preparing for meetings where SHEQ information is required
Requirements

This role requires a 'people first' mentality and specific qualifications including a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS, 2+ years experience in a similar role, ICAM / Taproot or equivalent certification, and excellent analysis and report writing skills.
