Project Coordinator VIC Role
The United Workers Union seeks a motivated Project Coordinator to work part-time in VIC on a 2-year project to identify and reduce occupational health risks for commercial laundry workers.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of the project plan, milestones, deliverables, and reporting across a 24-month timeline.
- Facilitate collaboration with workers, employers, HSRs, safety consultants, and partner organizations, including CALD support services.
- Support data collection, worker surveys, site assessments, and engagement with an Occupational Hygienist for environmental monitoring.
- Develop multilingual training materials and safety education tools tailored for laundry workers.
- Chair quarterly Steering Committee meetings and ensure ongoing governance and compliance with union policies.
- Monitor KPIs, track project impacts, and contribute to formal evaluations and reporting for stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing communications and forums to disseminate findings and promote improved OHS standards across the industry.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated project management experience in industrial or community-based projects.
- Basic knowledge of Victorian Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including CALD communities.
- Experience working in or with unions, worker advocacy groups, or health and safety forums.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and facilitation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
