At Ngala Community Services, we are seeking an experienced Kitchen Coordinator to join our team on a Casual basis.

The successful applicant will work autonomously to ensure a high standard of quality, service, and presentation of meals and maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing the best for children and possess strong food safety practices including HACCP.

The responsibilities of this position include cooking and preparing meals as per the menu, stock and produce shopping, ordering and rotation, plating up and delivery of meals to children's rooms, checking/testing temperature of food and recording, and ensuring awareness of children's requirements/allergies and prepare meals accordingly.

To be successful in this role, you will require a qualification in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Early Childhood, Food Safety and Allergen training qualification, knowledge of special dietary requirements and food allergies, sound knowledge and experience in food preparation and cooking meals, experience working autonomously in a kitchen, effective communication skills, interpersonal and relationship building skills, self-motivated and show initiative, high level of attention to detail, Current Working with Children Check, and National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months).

We offer a competitive salary of $32.34 per hour, inclusive of loading, discounted private health insurance, opportunity to gain a permanent position should there be a vacancy, and a short walk to Hoopla Cafe offering employee discounts on food and coffee.
