Job Overview:

We are seeking a results-driven Venue Manager Assistant to join our team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing venue operations, ensuring seamless customer service delivery, and maintaining a strong team culture.

About the Role:

  • Operations Management: Execute efficient venue openings and closings, including lighting, music, cleanliness, table presentation, and staff uniform standards.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Handle customer complaints and enhance the guest experience by executing checks on staff's table maintenance and upholding high service standards.
  • Wine Knowledge: Provide education on wine service and basic wine knowledge to staff.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all staff members are trained in food safety procedures, maintaining high hygiene standards within the restaurant.
  • Staff Development: Assist in conducting training for junior and casual staff members in FOH responsibilities.
  • Management Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with the Venue Manager and Duty Manager to discuss team feedback and development.
  • Rostering: Advise the Venue Manager about changes to the roster and rostering needs for specific days.
  • Reservation System Proficiency: Develop a sound knowledge of the reservations system and bookings.
  • Cash Handling: Complete evening reconciliation and submit the Daily End-of-Shift Report (EOSR) to Owners, Ops Managers, Venue Managers, and Accounting team.
  • Incident Reporting: Ensure the distribution of the EOSR to key parties, detailing sales, labour, incidents, and maintenance requirements.
  • Venue Maintenance: Keep records of broken items or items in need of repair within the venue and promptly notify the Venue Manager.
  • Checklists: Maintain and regularly review the Light Years opening and closing checklists.
  • Deep Cleaning: Organize and oversee weekly deep cleaning of both FOH and BOH areas.
