Lead Educator Position Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a group of educators in delivering high-quality programs for children.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in OSHC or long daycare, as well as leadership skills to mentor and support team members. If you are passionate about providing exceptional care and education to children, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a group of casual educators in one of our quality improvement groups, mentoring new educators and being a support and go-to for your group members.
  • Deliver the before, after, and vacation care programs under the supervision and direction of the OSHC Manager, Assistant Coordinators, and Educational Leader.
  • Build healthy relationships with children and their families and maintain interactive or active supervision of children in your care at all times.
  • Assist in delivering the service in accordance with appropriate policies and standards.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all team members.
  • Program planning using the cycle of planning and ensuring the program is primarily child-led.
  • Potential for training to be a Responsible Person in Day to Day charge when members of the management team are not present.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Experience in OSHC, long daycare, or relevant field working with primary aged children.
  • Qualification as per above completed, or working towards above qualification for a minimum of two years with two years working in a school-aged education and care setting.
  • Hold First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management certifications or willing to obtain.
  • Leadership skills are highly beneficial in this position, however educators with OSHC/long daycare experience but no leadership experience are very welcome to apply.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate between $37.75 and $38.88.
  • Paid sick and annual leave as accrued.
  • Priority for vacation care shifts.
  • Option for four eight hour days with one day off or six hour shifts daily.
