Civil Engineer Job Description

The role of a Civil Engineer at Technical Resources involves working on various projects in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage networks, and general civil design around processing plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the lead civil engineer, you will be completing civil design tasks.
  • Preparing calculation packages in support of the design.
  • Advising the lead engineer on project scope and assisting with changes to comply with project change management processes.
  • Supporting the lead structural engineer on scope management and cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Communicating effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders.
  • Identifying issues and problems, developing solutions, and seeking assistance when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Relevant years of experience in structural engineering design in the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sector.
  • Previous experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is advantageous.
  • Experience in using civil engineering software such as Drains, StormCAD, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in pavement design and exposure to MWRA design standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivery and service.
