Perioperative Nursing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Nursing Specialist to join our team at Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with 2 years' postgraduate experience as a Scrub/Scout Nurse to take on a key leadership role in our perioperative department. As a Perioperative Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and clinical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities- Undertake peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation
- Deliiver evidence-based nursing care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care (RN only)
- Proactively assess the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patient
- Document into the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- 2 years' postgraduate experience as a Scrub/Scout Nurse
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Basic computer skills
- Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
- Experience in Orthopaedic Surgery
The Prince of Wales Private Hospital is a leading high-level tertiary healthcare facility that specialises in acute surgical and maternity services. Our hospital is located in Randwick, where we share a precinct with three other hospitals: Sydney Children's Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and the Prince of Wales (public).
Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary is based on industry standards and takes into account the location, job responsibilities and required qualifications.
