**Your Role**

As the Lead for Closure and Asset Transition, you will spearhead initiatives related to closure transition projects and provide strategic counsel to Jacobs and our clients. The transition of resources and energy assets represents a significant challenge for both our clients and society at large, and we are committed to leading this transition. Your primary responsibility will be to engage externally, securing and executing closure-related projects as a principal contributor. Additionally, you will play a vital internal role in promoting the closure practice, advising management on market trends and positioning, and ensuring Jacobs is well-prepared for success in this sector.

Your responsibilities will include developing asset transition and closure strategies that will enhance Jacobs' resources business both in the ANZ region and globally. You will establish clear priorities regarding client engagement and responsiveness, ensuring we can effectively identify and meet client needs. The main focus of this position will be to support studies from our clients that may extend into downstream delivery phases. This role will emphasize creating a unique Jacobs offering that leverages our existing multi-disciplinary capabilities, providing exceptional value to our clients. Where skills gaps are identified, you will assist in articulating, partnering, and/or recruiting to address these needs.

You should possess a strong passion for and experience in managing complex mine closure assessments, environmental impact evaluations, and asset transition projects from a project delivery, technical, and commercial perspective. Strong project management expertise, developed through extensive experience in key engineering and technical disciplines, will be essential. Key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with commercial, project management, and technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, and deliver a variety of projects in Closure and Asset Transition.

• Overseeing the delivery of resource and energy generation infrastructure closure and transition projects, including evaluating existing data and identifying information gaps, conducting options analysis, ensuring closure readiness, and managing feasibility studies and project scheduling.

• Leading the development of multi-disciplinary closure and asset transition concept plans, closure plans, forward work plans, studies, and projects.

• Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs' clients in the new energy and resources sector.

• Assessing Jacobs' existing capabilities and experience to build a Closure and Asset Transition team across essential disciplines, including Power and Energy, Cost Control and Estimating, Environment and Approvals, Geotechnical, Waste, Water Resources and Hydrology, Groundwater, and Sustainability.

• Ensuring effective planning and execution of complex projects, providing superior project management and technical guidance to support team members, and fulfilling the role of Project Director and client-facing representative as necessary.

• Offering informal leadership to the broader Project and Program Delivery Services unit and collaborating with other sections within our business to achieve successful project outcomes for our clients. You will also contribute to enhancing our capacity, resilience, and technical offerings within the Resource Hub.

**Qualifications**

• A Bachelor's degree from a university recognized by Engineers Australia (or an equivalent institution if not an engineer).

• Membership in the Institute of Engineers Australia and Chartered Engineer Status (or equivalent institution if not an engineer).

• Extensive experience and industry-leading knowledge in various aspects of planning, development, implementation, and interface requirements for multi-disciplinary asset transition and closure projects.

• Strong understanding of current standards.

• Familiarity with delivery methodologies, including initiation, development, and delivery phases, as well as the specific requirements and accuracy levels needed at each delivery gate for resources and energy clients.

• Proven track record of successfully delivering asset transition and closure studies for key clients in the resources and/or energy sectors.

• A strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to solve complex problems and collaborate effectively with others.
