\At Eldercare, we are committed to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents living with dementia. As a Lifestyle & Dementia Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents, promoting independence, dignity, and optimal quality of life.
\This rewarding role involves providing individualized one-on-one support and engagement to residents living with dementia, including assistance with emotional support and engaging them in meaningful activities that align with their background and interests.
\**Key Responsibilities:**

- Providing high-quality care and support to residents living with dementia\
- Assisting residents with emotional support and engaging them in leisure pursuits\
- Creatingsafe and supportive environment for residents, promoting independence, dignity, and optimal wellbeing\
- Fostering calm and reassuring environment, responding empathetically to residents' emotional needs\
- Collaborating with the site-based leadership team and Clinical Nurse Consultant - Dementia to deliver best practice care and support\
- Developing and implementing lifestyle programs that promote resident engagement and participation\
- Conducting regular reviews and evaluations of lifestyle programs to ensure they meet resident needs and preferences\
- Maintaining accurate records and reports on resident progress and program outcomes\
- Participating in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting seniors with dementia\
- Contributing to a positive and respectful work culture that values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being\
- Adhering to Eldercare's policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, privacy, and workplace safety\
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Manager or Clinical Nurse Consultant - Dementia\
- Engage residents with meaningful activities that are aligned with their background and interests\
- Provide individualised care and support to residents living with dementia\
- Assist residents to participate in leisure and lifestyle programs while being sensitive to resident needs consistent with our Values and in line with our Mind, Body, Spirit ethos.\
- Under the guidance of the Wellbeing Consultant, the Lifestyle Support implements and assists in evaluating lifestyle programs.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

- Certificate 3 in Individual Support or equivalent qualification\
- Minimum 6 months experience in aged care setting, preferably with dementia specific experience\
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\
- Ability to think critically and make sound judgments\
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment\
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information\
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development\
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment\
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software\
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)\
- Police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people)\
- Immunization against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 (as per current guidelines)\
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
