Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and talented full-time Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Australian team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cost Planning and Estimation

Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates as tools for budgetary control, studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs.

Contract Administration

Administer construction contracts, measuring and approving progress payments, and advising clients on tenders when received.

Claims and Dispute Resolution

Assist with construction claims and dispute resolution matters, monitoring changes of design, assessing effects on cost, measuring values, and negotiating variations to designs.

Commercial Management

Advise on costs of alterations to existing buildings or structures, on various materials and construction methods, and on alternative contractual procedures and clauses.

Reporting and Analysis

Prepare final cost statements, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to clients.

Requirements

  1. Education

BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent construction-related degree.

Experience

Relevant major infrastructure project experience and Tier 1 main contractor experience preferred.

Skills

Exceptional negotiation and team management skills, with a sound working knowledge of various forms of contracts including the majority of Australian Standards and preferably the NEC and JCT forms.

Personal Qualities

Mobile and flexible, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
