Job Role Overview

This position involves providing assistance and support to parents, family members, children or young people in a sensitive and respectful manner. The successful candidate will collaborate with other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.

The Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker will be responsible for managing cases and situations, including working with high needs and high-risk clients and their families. This may involve involvement in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court hearings.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant diploma or degree qualification, or at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families. They will also have the ability to build positive working relationships, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A valid driver's license and a paid working with children clearance number are essential requirements. Documented verification of Aboriginality is required, confirming that you are an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent and that you identify as being Aboriginal.

This is a temporary role with a competitive salary range from $87,315 to $113,562 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. Opportunities to work flexibly and participate in industry-leading training in the Caseworker Development Program are available.
