Business Intelligence Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Business Intelligence Specialist.

  • Document high-quality data requirements documentation that is approved and accepted by business sponsors.
  • Work closely with Information Management Architecture, Data Governance, and Support to ensure proposed solutions adhere to data governance standards.
  • Review business requirements as received and provide feedback to ensure completeness and adequacy of the requirements to provide meaningful and accurate estimates for Information Management delivery.
Data Analysis & Strategy

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will:

  • Understand internal customers' business processes, identify opportunities, and provide effective cost-saving and efficient solutions.
  • Understand business strategy and influence alignment of Information Management strategy with business strategy.
  • Assist business areas in developing a deeper understanding of Data Management developments in the industry and how to best leverage data technology roadmaps to deliver on business vision.
Estimation & Stakeholder Management

You will be responsible for:

  • Being a point of contact for all business forums to assess and advise on new initiatives.
  • Working with IM management and business stakeholders to ensure business impacts and opportunities from data-related changes are well understood and managed appropriately.
  • Preparing discovery and delivery t-shirt size and Order of Magnitude (OoM) estimates, as well as distributing to required business stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Facilitating regular feature estimates and handover sessions with delivery teams.
  • Proactively communicating/updating stakeholders on the progress of their requests.
  • Reporting on metrics relating to the number of requests received, approved for funding, and delivered.
Stakeholder Engagement

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that stakeholders of the IM function are kept informed of any impacts from scheduled releases or environment changes.
  • Proactively managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitating meetings and workshops with Program Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Leads, etc.
