About the Role:
We are seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to join our Emergency Services team in Rockhampton. As a key ambassador for Red Cross, you will represent the organisation across diverse networks in the emergency management and community services sectors.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify community needs and create opportunities to build capacity and preparedness for individuals and communities.
- Develop and implement local volunteer capabilities through mentorship and support.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Red Cross's impact and presence in the region.
- Represent Red Cross at community events and meetings.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement emergency management plans.
About You:
- You have demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and building partnerships.
- You have experience in emergency management, project management, or community engagement and/or community development.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a range of audiences.
- You have experience in volunteer engagement and management, ideally in an emergency management or community development context.
- You have relevant qualifications and experience, with a strong understanding of community development principles.
