About the Role

MacKillop Family Services seeks a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to deliver residential supports that promote the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of vulnerable young people.

The successful candidate will work across three locations in Sydney, supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Key Objectives
  • Promote Positive Outcomes: Deliver trauma-informed accommodation and support services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families;
  • Provide Safety and Stability: Offer young people with safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing therapeutic routines and individual plans;
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings, house meetings, and case review meetings to ensure that young people receive services that meet their needs.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation;
  • Demonstrated understanding of youth homelessness;
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties;
  • Demonstrated ability to implement case plan goals for young people with challenging behaviors.
Requirements
  • Valid and current Driver's Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by employer);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk-assessed/client-facing roles).
