About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading blasting operations with precision and efficiency.

They will guide and support the blast crew to enhance their performance and develop their skills.

The role also involves overseeing the maintenance and safety of all blasting equipment.

Accurate records of blasting activities and inventory must be maintained.

Proactive problem-solving is essential during blasting activities.

Safety protocols and regulatory compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations must be prioritized.

Requirements

  • A solid background as a Shotfirer in quarrying or coal mines.
  • Strong knowledge of explosives, blasting techniques, and safety procedures.
  • The relevant certifications and licenses required by regulatory bodies.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • The ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
