Cattle Handler and Rider Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cattle Handler and Rider to join our team at a regional feedlot in New South Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within a growing business offering excellent career development and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • General low-stress cattle handling
  • Drafting
  • Cutting out
  • Riding and moving cattle within the feedlot
  • Diagnosing animal health with an emphasis on animal welfare
  • Arrival and dispatch of cattle
  • Administration of animal health treatments
  • Maintaining accurate daily records

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Competent horsemanship and riding skills
  • A minimum of two horses and required equipment (allowances given for upkeep)
  • Excellent cattle handling skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster a team environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to follow and comply with workplace policies and procedures
  • High attention to detail
  • Q-fever vaccination (or willingness to get)
