The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Software Commissioning Engineer to join our Global Product and Solutions team in Belrose. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with engineers to commission tests, ensuring seamless integration of software with Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) at client sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute integrated commissioning tests between software and MHE on and off-site.
  • Write commissioning test scripts based on project specifications.
  • Coordinate with Software Project Manager, Systems Integration Manager, Controls Engineers, and end customers.
  • Capture, summarize, and communicate testing results and progress with team members.
  • Record evidence of test results in real-time and maintain progress tracking.
  • Triage, record, prioritize, and manage issues affecting progress.
  • Track and review progress through meetings.
  • Compile commissioning reports.
  • Assist with issue identification and resolution.
  • Verify evidence of bug fixes and provide input to release procedures.
  • Participate in system acceptance testing with customers.
  • Train end users on Dematic application workflows.
  • Provide customer startup support.
  • Contribute to an empowering and inspiring work culture within the commissioning team.
  • Promote a Health and Safety culture while working on and off-site.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Recent Honours graduates with strong academic results may be considered.
  • Background or experience in Software Engineering and/or Automation.
  • Experience in real-time manual and automated environments.
  • Experience with various equipment interface protocols.
  • Knowledge of WMS/WCS software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good technical skills and ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Experience using basic Red Hat Linux commands.
  • Understanding of relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Programming languages: C, Scripting languages.
