Senior Operations Manager - Open Cut Mining

The role will cover all aspects of site operations, encompassing people leadership, statutory, safety, environment, community, technical and operational leadership, as well as reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of professionals in the mining sector.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior staff members.

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • A QLD SSE ticket for metalliferous mining or the ability to obtain one quickly.
  • A technical background in geology, engineering, or metallurgy.
  • Operational management experience in an open cut mining environment.
  • The right temperament and communication style to operate at a senior level.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in the mining industry.
