We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Central Australia. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, safe, and patient-centred care.
This position is instrumental in autonomously and collaboratively providing care to improve the management of diabetes and prevent complications across Central Australia.
The successful applicant will have experience and qualifications that align with the N5 or N6 level, depending on their background. They will be responsible for delivering high-level primary care services to patients in a rural setting.
Central Australia faces unique challenges in managing chronic diseases, particularly diabetes and renal disease among First Nations patients. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of these health issues and be able to develop and implement effective strategies to address them.
A key aspect of this role is working within the Diabetes service at Alice Springs Hospital, which serves a vast catchment area of approximately 50,000 residents.
