Classification: Level 3.1D

Employment Terms: Permanent Full-time (75 hours per fortnight)

Job Summary:

Cape York Natural Resource Management is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Officer to facilitate effective engagement and participation of Cape York people in projects focused on improved natural resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for landholders on Cape York and work with the Cape York NRM team, Northern NRM Alliance partners, and other stakeholders to improve land management for conservation and production outcomes.
  • Engage across all Cape York NRM projects, including Biodiversity, Fire Management, Sustainable Industries, and Water Quality, to ensure continuity of employment and flexibility of staff and skills.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement project plans, ensuring effective project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landholders, community groups, and government agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of project reports, proposals, and other documentation, ensuring high-quality outputs and effective communication.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as natural resource management, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
