About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment Specialist to join our team at Workskil Australia Ltd. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers in their transition to employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing intensive mentoring and support to ensure the customer's transition into employment is successful and sustained. This will involve working closely with customers, employers, and other stakeholders to identify and address barriers to employment.

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of the local labour market, an understanding of case management frameworks, and experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide intensive mentoring and support to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers to ensure successful transition into employment.
  • Work closely with customers, employers, and other stakeholders to identify and address barriers to employment.
  • Develop and implement individualized employment plans to meet the needs of customers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of employment plans and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Workskil Australia Ltd staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to employment services.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the local labour market.
  • Understanding of case management frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment.
  • Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development (preferably) or willingness to study.
  • Current driver's licence and own vehicle with willingness to travel across the region.
