Mathematics Education Position

The role of a mathematics educator involves the creation and implementation of an extensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development
  • Collaborate with other math educators and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices

Requirements:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Hold a valid VIT registration
  • CECV Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or working towards) - school can support this
  • Experience in Secondary Maths advantageous - graduates welcome to apply
  • Understanding of the Vic Curriculum - experience teaching in Vic/Australia
  • Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management
  • An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
