Macquarie's Financial Management Group is the hub of our financial operations, driving real change for our businesses. As a member of our Accounting Policy and Advisory Group, you will play a key role in building relationships with regulators, partners, communities, and shareholders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting, with extensive experience in interpreting and advising on impacts of changes in standards to the business.

The primary focus of this role will be advising on appropriate accounting treatments for proposed transactions in accordance with business unit-aligned and/or subject matter expert aligned focus areas. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain the Group's accounting policies and frameworks in specific subject matter expert areas and support the Group in understanding and implementation of accounting standard changes.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on accounting treatments for proposed transactions
  • Developing and maintaining accounting policies and frameworks
  • Representing Macquarie at local industry and Big 4 forums
  • Championing one of the team's strategic pillars such as accounting developments, training or stakeholder engagement

Requirements

  • Tertiary degree in business or commerce and relevant accounting certification (CA/CPA)
  • Extensive experience within a technical accounting role
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated people leader experience and natural collaboration skills
