Senior Data Engineering Manager Position

The role of Senior Data Engineering Manager is to oversee the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics, machine learning, and reporting. As a technical and people leader, you will own the responsibilities of designing, implementing, and operating efficient and scalable data solutions.

This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of technical experts. You will also need a strategic mindset to align data initiatives with broader business goals and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data from diverse sources.
  • Define and own the strategic roadmap for the data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness against agreed KPIs.
  • Practice best-practice software engineering to drive high-quality and sustainable delivery across the team.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance, security, and privacy frameworks to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading or managing a data engineering team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
