Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Merchandise Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory levels and maximizing sales opportunities within your category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage allocations and markdowns to ensure optimal stock levels and maximize sales opportunities
  • Monitor product trend balances and collaborate with the Category Buyer to generate ideas that drive sales and enhance product performance
  • Work closely with the Head of Planning to develop your design skills and build up your capabilities
  • Present high-level financials and range framework at the beginning of order sign-off and summarized at completion
  • Optimize store performance by working with your Allocation Analyst to ensure stock is allocated to store based on the philosophy of right store, right stock, right time
Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years' demonstrated experience as an Assistant Planner within a Womenswear Apparel Retailer
  • Proven experience using the WSSI to ensure that budgeted stock levels are being met
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel highly favored)
  • Experience working with Buyers on building range plans and attending Trade meetings
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Strong financial and commercial business acumen
  • Ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines
  • A high attention to detail
  • Understanding of the customer and responding effectively to their needs
  • Knowledge of the High Street competitors and able to form educated opinions to effect commercial decisions
  • Have an understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on delivery
  • Confident and engaging communicator with the ability to deliver presentations and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and develop a team, whilst managing key relationships effectively to deliver business strategy
