We are seeking a skilled and motivated 3rd or 4th year Carpentry Apprentice to join our team at East Coast Apprenticeships.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Commercial Construction sector and wants to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Carpentry Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including commercial construction, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry.

You will be working closely with our experienced team of tradespeople, who will provide you with guidance, support, and mentorship to help you achieve your career goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures
  • Measuring materials, following site safety procedures
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Carrying out calculations and site inductions
  • Cutting materials, working with various crews onsite to broaden experience
  • Erecting framework
  • Constructing concrete formwork, steel fixing
  • Repairing existing fittings, conducting defect inspections and rectification works
  • May work with plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:

  • An interest and commitment to work in the Commercial Construction sector
  • A Construction White Card
  • A current Driver's Licence and your own reliable transport
  • Physically fit, self-disciplined, and have high attention to detail
  • Reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously
