Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Waste Management Specialist to join our team, responsible for delivering top-quality waste management services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform bin collections on scheduled routes across the region.
  • To operate a range of plant and heavy vehicles including loaders, compactors, and trucks safely and efficiently.
  • To inspect and direct waste at the transfer station and gatehouse.
  • To support customers with waste disposal and recycling, providing expert guidance and advice.
  • To maintain clean, safe, and compliant waste sites and plant, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • To perform preventative maintenance and daily checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • To contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment that prioritizes safety and productivity.

Requirements

  • Prior experience operating trucks or heavy machinery, preferably in a waste management setting.
  • A valid HR driver's licence (HC preferred or willing to obtain).
  • A current loader ticket or willingness to obtain one.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including early starts, weekends, or public holidays as required.
  • Physical fitness, a focus on safety, and commitment to teamwork are essential for this role.

Working Conditions

This position involves working varied shifts, including 5:30am till 2:30pm and 7:00am till 4:00pm. Every second weekend will be worked, and duties may take place at both facilities.
