Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team at an established Underground Longwall operation. The successful candidate will contribute to the safety, performance, and sustainability of the site by setting engineering standards, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering safe, cost-effective, and innovative engineering solutions.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will bring technical expertise, strong leadership, and strategic thinking to drive business growth and development. You will oversee the implementation and performance of the site's maintenance and reliability strategy, manage engineering budgets, and contribute to annual mine planning processes.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a high-performing engineering team to achieve excellent results.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, safety, and environmental obligations.
  • Overseeing the implementation and performance of the site's maintenance and reliability strategy.
  • Managing engineering projects and contributing to major initiatives across the site.
  • Driving continuous improvement, digitalisation, and innovation in engineering practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • NSW Practising Certificate as Manager of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Underground Coal).
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Project Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior engineering or leadership position within underground coal mining.
  • Strong understanding of HSEC and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and engineering systems.
