Job Title:

Mechanical Designer/Drafter - Water Sector

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings/models, including P&IDs, and collaborating with engineers to deliver project plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Import and manipulate vendor drawings/models
  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models, including P&IDs
  • Export equipment/piping quantities
  • Collaborate with engineers to deliver project plans
  • Support project teams with documentation and revisions
  • Establish and maintain design templates and drawing standards
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficient in relevant CAD software, including Autodesk Civil 3D and Plant 3D
  • Strong understanding of Autocad
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
  • Relevant TAFE qualifications, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design
  • Understanding of risk management and ability to identify project and design-related risks
  • Commitment to working safely and within our HSEQ systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required
