We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Domestic Services Assistant to join our team at our Pakenham site. In this role, you will work as part of a friendly and close-knit team to provide high-quality care and support to our residents.



The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers, as well as demonstrate initiative and ability to work without supervision.



The Domestic Services Assistant role is a casual, day shift position available Monday to Friday between 8am and 2pm and on weekends between 8am and 12pm. Key Responsibilities


  • Casual Dayshifts available, Monday to Friday between 8am and 2pm and on weekends between 8am and 12pm
  • Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
  • Cleaning residents’ rooms including ensuites, furniture, and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areas
  • Ensure common living areas, hallways, and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards, verandas) are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition
  • Ensure the safe storage, security, and labelling of appropriate cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal
  • Replenishing cleaning liquids and materials whilst observing safety procedures
  • Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment, or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager


Requirements


  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers, patience, and an understanding of client services.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality;
  • Commitment to work as part of a team
