About the Role


Mexx Engineering seeks a skilled Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing electronic components, circuits, and systems used in computer, communication, and control systems.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in concept development, 3D design, and detailing. They should be familiar with safety requirements of machine design and possess high-level technical skills in commonly used 3D CAD software.


Key responsibilities will include designing software for embedded systems, developing test apparatus and procedures, supervising installation and commissioning of computer, communication, and control systems, and establishing performance and safety standards.


The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and proven experience in automation and robotic design concepts. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential, as is the ability to manage external and internal customer expectations.


Job Description



  • Design electronic components, circuits, and systems for computer, communication, and control systems
  • Design software for embedded systems
  • Develop test apparatus and procedures
  • Supervise installation and commissioning of computer, communication, and control systems
  • Establish performance and safety standards
  • Design communications bearers based on wired, optical fibre, and wireless communication media
  • Analyse communications traffic and level of service
  • Design signal processing algorithms and implement through appropriate hardware and software
  • Provide post-project customer support

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in concept development, 3D design, and detailing
  • Familiarity with safety requirements of machine design
  • High-level technical skills in 3D CAD software

Experience



  • Automated design and testing of electronic components and systems
  • Development of PLC programs and integration with other systems
  • Design and implementation of robotic automation systems
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, servo motors, conveyors, and robotic-based automation systems
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing practices and automation concepts

Salary


The estimated salary for this position is $62,500 - $82,500 plus superannuation benefits.
