Claims Specialist Job Description

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented multitasker to join our team as Claims Specialist.

  • Providing detailed threshold coverage analysis and advice, particularly where there may be issues of characterization, policy interpretation, exclusion operation or disclosure issues.
  • Timely and courteous verbal and written reviews and responses to broker clients.
  • Working with key legal partnerships to investigate and determine liability, quantum and a tailored strategy for resolution.
  • Establishing timely and accurate reserves.
  • Where applicable, instructing, directing and closely managing key legal partnerships on claims.
  • Attendance at broker and client meetings to proactively discuss claims narrative and outcomes.
  • Attendance at mediation when required.
  • Discussing claims and defence strategy with Head of Financial Lines Claims and team leads.
  • Liaising with third party administrators in relation to notifications.
  • Discussing all aspects of past and current claims with Underwriters and providing advice on renewal and new business.
Requirements:

As an insurance professional with 3+ years of Financial Lines claims management experience, you will be a confident communicator who is passionate about delivering a high level of service to clients.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
