Claims Handling Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Handling Specialist to join our team. This role involves ensuring the efficient and proficient handling of financial lines insurance claims.

This specialist will be responsible for delivering high-quality claims services to our valued stakeholders, with a focus on timely and accurate input, processing, authorisation and payment of claims.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effective management of claims from initial receipt through to resolution.
  • Accurate determination of professional lines claims in accordance with industry standards and applicable legislation.
  • Prompt documentation of claims processing and outcomes.
  • Collaboration with external and internal specialists to achieve effective and efficient settlement outcomes.
  • Proactive management of complaints as per guidelines.
  • Negotiation of claims settlements.
  • Continuous improvement focus attitude towards implementation of new work practices and procedures, initiating and facilitating change and innovations.
  • Enhancement and development of technical expertise and participation in professional development and training.
  • Delivery of exceptional customer service and establishment of strong working relationships with customers and service providers.

About You:

  • Professional experience in financial lines claims is preferred.
  • A legal background and/or qualifications would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of relevant industry legislation.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Pro-active and energetic individual with a high level of professionalism in all aspects of claims handling.
