Job Overview

Qantas Group is seeking an experienced professional to lead our aircraft and simulator checking and training team. As the Head of Training and Checking, you will drive and deliver training, checking, and testing activities to ensure they are safe, efficient, effective, and compliant with relevant regulations.

About the Role

This full-time, permanent role is based in Perth and offers a unique opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive team. You will be responsible for managing a range of different projects and competing priorities, requiring strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and deliver training, checking, and testing activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for ensuring high-quality training and checking services
  • Collaborate with the wider Qantas team to achieve strategic objectives for Network Aviation's Training and Checking Organisation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years operational line pilot experience operating in a High Capacity RPT and/or Charter operation
  • Ability to satisfy CASA in accordance with CASA regulatory requirements for the Network AOC Head of Training and Checking
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and engage a diverse range of people
  • Extensive knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulatory framework
  • Ability to drive and manage change function within a multi-function environment with multiple stakeholders
