Senior Engineering Manager Job Description

As a seasoned engineering professional, you will lead the development and delivery of complex engineering solutions to enable AI/ML-powered services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance components and services that align with the team's objectives.
  • Owning and evolving the system architecture in accordance with best practices and industry standards.
  • Ensuring consistent uptime, troubleshooting, and meeting non-functional SLAs.
  • Coordinating the design and implementation process to uphold high standards while ensuring the team remains aligned with agreed roadmaps and timelines.
  • Supporting experiments to assess the performance of various algorithms and using the results to iteratively improve the platform.
  • Leading a small team of engineers, providing line management, and supporting their career development through coaching, constructive feedback, and actionable suggestions for improvement.
  • Collaborating with peers in Data Science, Product Management, and other stakeholders across the business to influence product evolution and drive critical decisions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Significant hands-on coding experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • LINUX environments.
  • Bash scripting.
  • SQL.
  • AWS cloud platform.
  • Serverless frameworks.
  • Containerization tools.
  • CI/CD pipelines.
  • Modern DevOps practices.

Bonus Points:

  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
