About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment for Australasia. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving our HSE culture across our operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting directly to the Regional HSE Director APAC, you will partner with senior management to mentor, guide, and ensure compliance with our global HSE standards. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can lead with influence, champion HSE initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will span across overseeing HSE systems, ensuring legislative compliance, mitigating risks, and managing workers' compensation and injury management. You will be the key liaison between executive management and site-level operations, ensuring that HSE policies are implemented effectively and that our teams are empowered to maintain high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Collaborate with senior business leaders to drive HSE culture, ensuring alignment with global standards and regional strategic plans.
  • Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and integrity of the global HSE management system, ensuring compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Legislative Compliance: Stay abreast of HSE legislation, ensuring that our operations meet all regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Risk Mitigation: Lead initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks, working closely with site management to ensure effective controls are in place.
  • Injury Management: Manage return-to-work programs, providing strategic advice on case management to minimize lost time injuries.
  • Reporting: Present monthly HSE performance reports to executive management, ensuring transparency and accountability at all levels.
Why Join Us?

We offer a range of benefits to our employees in recognition of their contribution to our success. Some of these benefits include:

  • Flexible Work Arrangements: We support our employees in achieving a genuine work-life balance.
  • Additional Days Off: Enjoy more time doing what you love with additional days off, including an annual Wellbeing Leave and annual Volunteering Leave each year.
  • Employee Benefits Program: Access to our comprehensive employee benefits program, including company car rental program, discounts on vehicle purchases and services, free annual flu vaccination, corporate health care plan with Bupa, financial services support, company-paid salary continuance, Death and TPD insurance, and a comprehensive employee wellbeing program.
About You
  • 8-10 years of experience in HSE, with a proven ability to influence and drive cultural change.
  • Strong experience in managing HSE systems, risk management, and compliance.
  • Proven track record in incident investigation and audit management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Formal qualifications in OHS or Environmental Management, with certifications in incident investigation and lead auditing.
Inclusion & Diversity

We believe that the true power of diversity cannot be realised without an inclusive culture and that talent is equally distributed across society. We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where the power of our differences can be embraced and everyone feels they can belong, be themselves and succeed. As an equal opportunity employer, we actively encourage applicants from all identities, backgrounds, and experiences, helping ensure our workforce is representative of the global communities we operate in.

If you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply so we can have a conversation to see if you could be a great fit. If you have individual adjustments required to participate in the recruitment process, please notify us in your application or contact us directly.
