Be part of the next generation of defence technology and lead a team of detail designers in an exciting project.

This is an excellent opportunity to bring your technical leadership skills and experience in mechanical CAD to drive innovation and deliver quality outcomes. As a key member of this programme, you will work closely with the management team and delivery lead to execute significant packages of work. Your expertise in systems engineering and ability to motivate and influence others will be essential in achieving programme targets.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Manage a team of detail designers and maintain alignment of core detailed design tools and processes across multiple teams.

- Develop and/or maintain detailed design processes and procedures to ensure quality deliverables.

- Continue development of capability in an Australian naval shipyard.

- Ensure the quality of outputs produced by the team against agreed programme targets.

- Advise and support operations and other functions.

**Requirements:**

- Drafting qualification such as Technical Diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

- Demonstrated experience as a draftsperson, preferably within Naval/Maritime, Defence or allied industry including experience in a leadership position in a technical domain.

- Mechanical CAD experience with the ability to use core engineering tools.

- Well-developed leadership skills and the proven ability to motivate and influence others.

- Demonstrated experience working within a systems engineering framework.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.

- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
