As a seasoned Farm Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of our farm ensuring the excellent welfare of stock and driving business growth.

Farm Operations Job Description

This role involves:

  • Ensuring the health and wellbeing of poultry livestock through proactive monitoring and prompt intervention
  • Organising and conducting farming operations including shed maintenance and water supply systems to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency
  • Preparing sheds for new batches of chickens to maintain continuity and reduce stress on animals
  • Daily operations feed ordering and movement of livestock to ensure smooth logistics and meet contractual requirements
  • Maintaining cleanliness and adherence to high standards of hygiene and safety
  • Identifying and controlling environmental toxins weeds pests and diseases to prevent harm to animals and staff
  • Providing regular updates and insights on farm performance to stakeholders
  • Supervising existing staff training new employees and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Analyzing market trends and adapting production strategies to meet evolving demands and achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • Proven experience in poultry farming and leadership roles is essential
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and work under pressure
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime
  • Able to think critically solve problems and drive results orientated outcomes
