Health and Safety Professional

This is a 6 month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension for a Health and Safety Professional to join our client, a large state government agency based in Brisbane.
The hourly rate for this role is attractive and includes a 25% casual loading. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and review the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of the broader requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety plans, procedures, systems, and processes that support business outcomes.
- Support the development, coordination, and implementation of an auditing schedule to facilitate continual improvement of the Technical Services HSEMS.
- Assist in developing statistical reports on the performance of the HSEMS and associated projects to facilitate management review and continual improvement.
- Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety programs that support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.
- Assist in reviewing the training needs analysis for the Business Unit, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to influence and contribute to the strategies for the work health and safety agenda.
- Ensure the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance with relevant legislation where required.
- Oil and Gas/Mining industry experience is desirable.
- A C-Class Driver's License is essential.
- Overnight travel and work away from home may be a requirement of this role.
