Job Title: Director of Operations

This Director of Operations role reports to the Executive Director.

The Institute is a national organization for research, clinical excellence, and policy innovation in eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic and operational plans that align with the Institute's mission and priorities.
  • Oversee financial systems in line with University and legislative requirements.
  • Provide operational leadership across the Institute, driving continuous improvement in systems and processes for efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing workforce by managing, mentoring, and developing staff.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with partners and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by managing workplace health and safety and guiding staff in governance and reporting requirements.
About You:
  • Award-winning qualifications in Management and Finance, with relevant training and experience.
  • Experience in operational and financial management, including budget planning and monitoring.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff, including performance management and creating a positive team culture.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; capacity to make sound decisions in complex environments.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills; ability to balance priorities and deliver results within tight timeframes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders and convey information clearly in writing and verbally.
