Heavy Diesel Mechanic Opportunity in Port Hedland

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Dampier Salt Operations in Port Hedland, Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across our fleet of heavy mobile equipment.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated trades person who is looking for a long-term career in mining. The role requires a high level of safety awareness and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the harvester and tractor fleet and determine repair actions when required
  • Maintain the CAT and Komatsu dozer fleet and determine repair actions when required
  • Maintain the SCANIA haul truck/trailer fleet
  • Maintain the auxiliary equipment fleet of CAT graders, excavators, water truck and other MEM equipment
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects – increasing safety whilst reducing risk and cost
  • Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
Requirements:
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification
  • Experienced in maintaining and servicing Heavy Mobile Equipment
  • Australian manual driver's licence
  • Eligible to work in Australia without requiring visa sponsorship
