About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Perth, where you will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet of vehicles. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of fleet vehicles, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough mechanical assessments to diagnose and repair issues with fleet vehicles, ensuring efficient maintenance and servicing.
  • Service the entire fleet, including trucks, trailers, dollies, and motor vehicles, in adherence to our Maintenance and Workshop procedures.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for issues, and perform replacement of brakes, suspension components, steering systems, and major engine components.
  • Conduct body building tasks, including welding and grinding of chassis or comb rails on flat top trailers.
  • Handle auto electrical work on all 12V or 24V systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Order and replace worn or damaged parts, ensuring adherence to Quality Standards and Manufacture Specifications.
  • Develop and/or update preventative maintenance schedules to prolong the lifespan of equipment and reduce breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used, ensuring compliance with company Policies & Procedures.
  • Adhere to all Safety protocols and Regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on fleet vehicles/trailers.
  • Australian recognized Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification.
  • Unlimited Australian work rights (no restrictions).
  • Passionate about all things mechanical, with the ability to think critically and creatively to diagnose complex mechanical problems efficiently.
  • A meticulous approach to ensuring every aspect of the machinery is thoroughly assessed.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Good physical fitness for heavy lifting and working in various positions.
  • Dedicated and reliable, with a strong team player attitude.
