About the Role

We are seeking a professional to provide needs-based services for individuals with disabilities, ensuring a person-centred approach is adopted to maximize their living, social and recreational skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting participants to develop options, have choices and make well-grounded decisions. They will also maintain relevant participant documentation and records, communicate with other support workers and line managers regarding participant's cultural and linguistic needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting participants to achieve personal goals and development of skills
  • Maintaining accurate participant records and documentation
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and management team
  • Ensuring participant individual plans are adhered to with regard to individual goals, development of skills, enhancement of independence, behaviour management
  • Cleaning and maintaining participant homes in a clean, hygienic and homely condition
  • Administering medication as per guidance from senior staff member or line manager
  • Meeting participants personal care needs, including movement, toileting, meal assistance and personal grooming
  • Engaging in education and development of participants to assist their independence with regard to personal care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A genuine commitment to supporting participants in their home and within the community
  • Flexibility to work varied rosters
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Previous experience in a relevant industry or service preferred
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
