Medical Officer Role

This medical officer role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain significant experience in rural health practice and rapidly expand your knowledge and skill level.

You will have the chance to care for a broad range of patient presentations, including both low and high acuity patients. Additionally, you will take on a leadership role mentoring Surgical Interns and Hospital Medical Officers.

The role provides strong links to the Monash University School of Rural Health, which is located at our campus.

We are looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent)
  2. General Registration or eligible for Provisional Registration
  3. Minimum AHPRA level 3 supervision for International Medical Graduates
  4. Registration with the Medical Board of Australia prior commencement required for international candidates
  5. Minimum 3 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including minimum 12 months surgical experience / surgical HMO year in Australia or equivalent overseas
  6. AMC parts 1 & 2 passed (if applicable – for candidates on Standard pathway)
  7. Competence in advanced life support techniques
