About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Aurecon. As an Associate, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions to our clients across the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on power systems analysis and planning to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Lead and execute projects, providing technical support and mentoring a team of engineers
  • Advise clients on power generation projects, energy storage, and power networks operation
  • Interface with external clients, network service providers, and AEMO
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of specialists to bring innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Provide high-quality and timely advice to clients on power systems operation and development
  • Lead the deployment of innovative projects in energy storage and inverters-based generation markets
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of electrical engineering and power systems theory. You will also require at least 10-15 years' experience in a power industry role as a consultant or power project developer/owner/operator.

A strong background in power system modelling software such as PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory is preferred. Site and practical experience with power systems behaviour are also highly valued.

A sound knowledge of the National Electricity Rules and the grid connection process across the NEM is required.
