Caseworkers play a vital role in reducing re-offending among young offenders. As a Crime Prevention Specialist, you will work within the youth justice system to address issues that place young people at risk of re-offending.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor young offenders' compliance with court orders and intervene to address any issues that may lead to re-offending.
- Develop and implement culturally appropriate programs to reduce re-offending through restorative justice activities and evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for victims, young offenders, their families, and the community.
- Prepare and present reports to the Children's Court on behalf of the Chief Executive, ensuring accurate documentation and best practice outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure effective information management to promote accountability.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and contribute to organisational goals.
This position is part of the Queensland Government's efforts to provide support to young offenders and their families. The successful applicant will be responsible for working closely with stakeholders to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a statutory environment.
