As a Senior Conflict Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in our New Business Intake Team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization and contribute your expertise to our global operations.
The Conflicts Team is responsible for providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance issues, including conflicts of interest, financial crime, and sanctions. Our team members work closely with business development teams to ensure that new clients are selected in accordance with professional conduct rules.
- Provide tailored advice on compliance topics related to conflicts of interest and new business/client acceptance.
- Advise on relevant legislation, regulations, and policies, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing legislation.
- Collaborate with business development teams to strategically select new clients.
- Supervise and support team members, coordinate workflow, and provide training on conflicts and information barrier procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in Australia or another relevant jurisdiction.
- 4-5+ years' post-admission experience specialising in conflicts of interest at a law firm in Australia or another relevant jurisdiction.
- Excellent research and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously on complex conflicts and regulatory issues and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure.
- Effective verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills with a variety of staff.
